- Ski Italy Cortina ski in Cortina
Cortina
Brief Resort Overview: Cortina is located in the Dolomites 120 miles NW of Venice at an altitude of 1225m.
Cortina is fairly modern with chic boutiques lining the main street; the pedestrian-only Corsa Italia.
Although many people come to ski Cortina only to see the beautiful scenery in the Dolomites the resort is also the place to see and be seen during
the Italian winter. The skiing is on Foloria, Tofana, and Cinque Torri, several mountains which do not interconnect with each other.
The scenery is absolutely stunning and the Dolomites have been recently added to the UNESCO world heritage list of most beautiful landscapes on Earth.
Starting in Cortina advanced skiers can ski the Stella Ronda which is a unique ski circuit around the highest Dolomites.
Principal advantages of the resort: The scenery is considered by many to be the prettiest in the Alps.
You can ski the Stella Ronda while in Cortina. Non-skiers will appreciate the local shopping and proximity of Venice for a day trip.
